  • Identify your own Belbin Team Roles and recognise how they contribute to group dynamics.

After reading these roles, I think thinking like Plant, Monitor Evaluator and Specialist will be more suitable for my personality. My personality is more reserved, so I am not suitable for communication and exchange, but I am still very confident in the output of my own ideas. As the head of the team, I need to brainstorm and other ways to get more ideas out of my head. Let the team members learn from my ideas to implement the next action. Monitor Evaluator is the character I most resemble. I may sometimes think very extreme, if not up to my own expectations I may continue to study. And I was very hesitant to decide on ideas. I think as a thinker of a project, I must consider comprehensively before deciding on the best idea and plan. So I am very hesitant about the choice of ideas.

In class, we had a group discussion about one of our roles. Our group has a social role, an action role and two thinking roles. The roles of our two ideas are different roles. We talked about our personalities and talked about the good and bad things about each character. It is a very good group discussion experience.

This activity is very meaningful, because we can find our appropriate role in a group and make our position in the group clear. This is very important for the group project in the future. I believe the four of us must be a very unusual group and can make a perfect project.

Hr2- Criticize/play

  • Reflect on and analyse personal reactions to conflict in a past scenario.

When it comes to conflicts in scenes, when I was working on a group project, a lot of conflicts on ideas were caused by different opinions of group members. There is bound to be some crossover between the team members’ initial ideas for the project and some ideas for the project. Everyone has different ideas and ideas. At that time, due to the lack of timely communication, our team members had conflicts in the division of labor and cooperation on the project. When I encountered conflicts, I immediately invited them to a coffee shop to communicate with each other, and they argued fiercely online. When I asked them to meet me offline.they instantly became much friendlier and easier to communicate with. My role is to let them know what aspect of the project they are responsible for and what they should do.

  • Evaluate different perspectives and reasoning behind opposing views – identify the ‘why’

There are different points of view and everyone thinks differently. For men and women, a lot of the time, the way of thinking is different. Not to mention everyone. Sometimes the opposition may be due to some disagreement or because there is a problem in communication. Some people did not tell the whole idea to all the group members when they communicated. It may also be because the expression is not clear or the members do not want to express their opinions and ideas, which is actually a dead circle. It will ruin the teamwork and the atmosphere. Conflict is inevitable. It’s just that what we need to do is figure out how to resolve every conflict and get the group on the same page. That’s the most important thing.

  • Upon reflection, how might you have responded differently?

After reflection, I may use different ways to solve corresponding conflicts according to different situations and different people. However, it is necessary to communicate clearly and explain how it is arranged. 1. I may make clear the whole situation and find out what the conflict is and then arrange how to deal with it. 2. If I really can’t solve the problem, I can also undertake some tasks correspondingly, and let the people in conflict take some tasks through a third person to alleviate the conflict. 3. You can also gather all team members together to solve this conflict. After all, sometimes there are conflicts that one person can’t resolve.
